It is our vision that all children at Tyntesfield experience excellent physical education, school sport and physical activity creating universal enthusiasm about physical activity; where every child feels confident and ready to participate, leading to lifelong enjoyment, participation and active lifestyle choices.
At Tyntesfield, we recognise the importance of providing a high-quality, broad PE curriculum that is exciting, engaging and challenging, inspiring pupils to access, succeed and excel in sport (competitive and non-competitive) and other physical activities. Opportunities to be physically active help to further embed a pattern of health and wellbeing that can be sustained into adult life, enabling informed decisions to be made in pursuit a healthy lifestyle. By working closely in partnership with local schools, clubs and organisations, we create a wealth of sporting opportunities for our children to experience valuable positive social interactions: teaching co-operation through being part of a team; resilience to face challenges, therefore dealing with success and defeat; honest competition fostering a sense of ‘fair play’ and sportsmanship.
It is vitally important that we provide opportunities for ALL children to become physically literate to support their health, fitness and wellbeing whilst enabling them to make healthy lifestyle choices. In doing so, we will be equipping our children to apply their physical, mental, emotional and social skills successfully as they move to their next stage in an ever evolving and challenging world, fostering a love of physical activity, health and nutrition and a greater awareness of the impact of the benefits of leading an active, healthy lifestyle.
