Fostering strong, meaningful links with our local community is so important to us. We believe that community links are essential for the growth, development and wellbeing of all our pupils. Links with our local community help us to build relationships with groups and individuals who will provide positive role models for our children whether within the world of work, spiritual and moral development or everyday experiences.
Our school is part of a diverse, inclusive and supportive local community and we actively seek opportunity to further foster and grow our links.
Examples of some community links we have:
Trafford Integration Project – We are part of this local project that brings our children and older people to work together in an enduring partnership. It is a very humbling experience for our children and a fantastic opportunity to develop intergenerational understanding.
Local secondary schools - We are currently working with our local secondary schools on a two-year Transition Project looking into further developing effective transition arrangements. Our project is one of 18 projects linking primary and secondary schools, across Trafford, each project focusing on a different aspect of transition. This is a Trafford wide project involving over 45 Trafford schools will culminate in us all sharing our learning to inform and improve future transition arrangements.
Local Sports Clubs – We have strong links with many local sports clubs, working with us to offer a strong PE and sport curriculum offer, we also signpost and encourage our children to pursue sporting activity outside school through the local clubs.
Crucial Crew – Local emergency services- Crucial Crew encourages model behaviour and good citizenship through active participation in a range of health and safety activities. Professionals from the combined Emergency Services and local agencies work with our children on matters that teaches them community values and guides them on how to save lives.

Community Links

Climate Crisis Conference - The conference was organised by Our Sale West Big Local, a resident led community group based in Sale West. Six local schools, including Tyntesfield took part in a Climate Crisis protest and carried out a presentation on a climate issue. We worked with a number of environmental organisations including the Environment Agency, Sow the City, City of Trees, the Centre for Sustainable Energy, Recycle4GM, Trafford Council Officers and Manchester Environmental Education Network, who all then supported us in creating a community environmental pledge.
Supporting local and National charities:
At Tyntesfield we aim to teach our children the value of empathy, volunteering, and charitable giving of one's resources through working closely with charities and helping to support them in their work. We run various fundraising efforts such as collecting food for our local foodbank, raising money for Jeans for Genes, Breast Cancer Awareness, Brain Tumour Research, Save the children UK and many more.
