Hello and welcome to Year 2! My name is Mrs Whyte. I teach Class 2SW and I am also Early Reading Lead and PE Lead. We have a brilliant Key Stage One team with Mrs Campbell, Mrs Walmsley, Mrs Rowe, Mr Rogerson and Mrs Wainwright also supporting our learning and growth.

In Class 2SW, we grow our brains in every direction- becoming wonderful writers, remarkable readers, marvellous mathematicians, super scientists and everything in between! Throughout the year, we discover topics including the Great Fire of London, Life for Victorian Children and Sensational Safaris, with a good measure of Uses of Everyday Materials, Light and Habitats learning in Science along the way. In Art, we will explore the work of Paul Klee, Roger Hargreaves, Yayoi Kusama and more.

The children in Year 2 are our oldest in Key Stage One and love winning team points for being ready to learn, showing caring behaviour around school and striving to achieve their best. Buckle up, it’s going to be a fantastic year!
