Thematic Work Spring 2012
In this Geography theme, Year 5 and 6 have been learning all about India. They have studied both the physical features and studied the human geography in this country. In Art, the pupils have studied Turner Prize winning artist Chris Ofili to understand how layering can be used to create a piece of artwork. In response they have enjoyed creating their own piece of art in the style of Ofli.
Lower Juniors have also had a Geography focus for their thematic work. In 'Spirit of Africa' the pupils had the opportunity to learn about the physical features of the African continent before a focus on Kenya. As well as learing about life in both the cities and the countryside and comparring with their lives in Sale, the children enjoyed art work and dance with an African theme.
The Infants theme work has been closely linked to their work in Literacy, looking at Fairy Stories and imaginary tales.
