The first theme of the year, for the Infants had an Arts focus and children enjoyed learning all about the circus. As well as experiencing a fantastic 'Circus Skills' Day, activities included numeracy and literacy work linked to the circus theme, designing and making circus clothes and creating clay clown faces.
Lower Juniors' theme this half term had an Arts focus and pupils thoroughly enjoyed learning all about when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Pupils had the opportunity to design and make their own dinosaur model and, after learning the skills of pencil and charcoal drawing, created their own cave painting. In Literacy, pupils created their own set of Dinosaur Trump cards and wrote a story about the discovery of a dinosaur egg. They learnt about fossils and how they are formed and looked after their own dinosaur egg for twenty four hours!
In this History theme, pupils in Years 5 and 6 have been learning all about life during World War 2. They learnt about the origins of the war and life in Britain during the war including rationing, life as an evacuee, life in the Blitz.The importance of music was explored pupils had the opportunity to design and make their own Anderson Shelter.
