Curriculum Overview
The National Curriculum and our own curriculum policy statements provide us with the framework for our work at Tyntesfield School. For each subject, the National Curriculum sets out Programmes of Study related to the three Key Stages in the primary school.
Foundation Stage is from 3 to 5 (Nursery and Reception)Key Stage 1 is from age 5 to 7 (Years 1 and 2)Key Stage 2 is from age 7 to 11 (Years 3 to 6)
Within each class, the curriculum is delivered using a mixture of separate subject sessions and thematic work, i.e. using a topic as a starting point for work in different subject areas.
